Dorothy I. Thompson 79, of Freeport, died Wednesday, Novemember 7, 2007 at Swedishe American Hospital in Rockford. She was born September 13, 1928, in Roscoe, Il. She was the daughter of Melville Hamor and Helen Homer. She was a housekeeper for 15 years at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Dorothy married George Thompson Jr. in April of 1948, in Rockford, IL. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, embroidering, and meeting with friends for coffee. Survivors include her husband George of Freeport. Three sons, George Thompson III, Tim(Sherry)Thompson, and Brian Thompson all of Rockford. One daughter, June Lamb, also of Rockford. One sister Louise Paxton of Loves Park, IL. Five grandchildren, Justin(Monica)Thompson, Monte Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Crystal Lamb, and Ken Lamb; and two greta-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, one son, Justin,one daughter, Jean, three brothers, and four sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday November 12, at 10:00 A.M at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3 at Burke-Tubbs.
