Obituary for Maria McPeek (Francisca dela Torre)

Maria McPeek 1938—2016
Maria Soledad Fulton McPeek, 77 yrs. old, of Stockton passed away at FHN Memorial Hospital on Jan. 23, 2016. She was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico on Apr. 2, 1938 the daughter of Miguel Andrade Mesta & Maria Francisca de la Torre. Maria married Robert McPeek on Mar. 4, 2001 at the Family Farm. She retired from Micro Switch & was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. While it can be said Maria lived a quiet life, the memory she has left is one that is bold and bright. Maria moved from her large family as a young lady to the United States and worked hard up to her retirement. In 2001, she married the love of her life Bob McPeek and they spent virtually every day of their marriage side by side as best friends, not just husband and wife. Maria had a son Dave, whom she loved dearly and 16 grandchildren that she simply adored. She loved selflessly and never said "no" especially to those grandchildren. Maria enjoyed vibrant clothes & jewelry and loved finding them at bargain price. Maria enjoyed cooking and everyone loved eating it. She had an undying fondness for "The King." She enjoyed her and Bob's many trips to Vegas and was firm believer in fortune and luck. Although, Maria left Mexico years ago she loved her trips back home to see her big family and kept her heritage close at heart. While she has passed on, "Ria's" memory will leave a large, bright, tie-dyed light with all that knew and loved her so dearly. She is survived by her husband: Robert McPeek, son: David Crawford, stepchildren: Robert (Amy) McPeek, Andy (Kate) McPeek, Rachael (Brook) Hartman, Patrick Otto, 2 granddaughters: Mariah & Frannie, 15 other grandchildren, siblings: Agripina, Maria Luisa, Elida Oralia, Ruben Pascual, Raul, Arturo, Hemero Andrade. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, 2 siblings, & nephew: Ruben.
