Obituary for Anthony C. Cannova


Anthony “Tony” C. Cannova, 64, of Freeport died on July 4, 2012, at home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on March 16, 1948, in Freeport, son of Vincent and Marie (Puccio) Cannova. He was employed by Honeywell and retired in 2006.
Tony was the drummer for various local bands, most notably The Nomadds. He enjoyed golfing and streetrodding with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Tina of Freeport; daughters, Maria (Carlos) Delucca of Marietta, Ga., and Christina (Geoff) Cannova Maring of Carbondale; brother, Joseph (Sandra) Cannova of Freeport; step-children, Andrea (Attila) Balogh of Davie, Fla., Joshua (Joann) Teuber of Wilmette, and Erin (Ryan) Mousel of Telluride, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, Antonio and Isabella Delucca, Sophia, Gia, Nadia, and Lorenzo Maring, Julian Balogh, and Nathan, Jane, Charles, and Peter Teuber; nephews, Vincent Cannova and Shell (Shawn) Cannova; and two dogs, Spike and Max.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends are invited to join the family in fellowship at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, at the Masonic Temple, 305 W. Stephenson St. in Freeport.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for FHN Hospice.
