LOIS M. AURAND, 91 FREEPORT - Lois M. Aurand, 91, of Freeport, died Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Manor Court. Born May 16, 1924, in Freeport; the daughter of Roy and Grace (Shockey) Rumelhagen. She married LaVearle Aurand October 17, 1945; he died August 21, 1979. Lois worked for the Cregan Insurance agency in Freeport. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and a former member of Ladies of the Elks. Surviving are her children, Nancy (Michael) Lester of Dakota and Lee (Irene) Aurand of Alachua, Florida; 2 grandsons, Ryan Lester of Freeport and Joshua (Tif) Aurand of Machesney Park; 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 1 sister, Thelma Neberman. Cremation rites have been accorded. Her cremated remains will be buried in the Oakland Cemetery.
