Walker, Janet (Nee Place) passed away peacefully on February 9, 2015, at the age of 79 years. Jan was born in Freeport, Illinois but has been a long time resident of Brookfield since 1968. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. As a member of Brookfield 1st United Methodist Church, Jan was active for many years as member of Peace United Methodist Church, where she was active for many years as well. Outside of church she was a faithful member of PEO, enjoyed gardening, bridge, reading, traveling (especially in Europe) and caring for the family dogs. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Place. Se is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ray. Dear mother of Williams (Debbie) and James (Deborah). Proud grandmother of Stephanie, Sarah, Ryan, Leah and Justin. Further survived by other relatives and friends. A memorial gathering will be held at Peace United Methodist Church, Brookfield (12860 W. North Ave.) on Friday, February 20 from 1PM until time of service at 2PM. Memorials in Janet's name may be made to Peace United Methodist Church.
