RICHARD ROY MOORE, 59 DAKOTA - Richard Roy Moore, 59, of Dakota passed away early Saturday morning due to a vehicle accident in Stephenson County. Richard was born July 24, 1955, to Roy and Marion Moore. He was a 1973 graduate from Freeport High School, and received his Associates degree from Highland Community College. He was an electrician at Titan Tire since 1975, and also owned a farm near Orangeville. He treasured his step-grandchildren, Nicholas, Oliver, and Jack who they called "Papa". Richard will be greatly missed by his sister, Patty (Jeff) Robertson; his nieces, Alicia (Brandon) Thomas of Fort Carson, Colorado, Kari (Todd) Penticoff of South Beloit; and nephew, Shawn (Christi) Robertson of Freeport. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Tara (Dan) Allind of Orangeville, great-nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Ovist. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at Walker Mortuary, Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015, at Walker Mortuary.
