KEITH A. CROSS, 87 MCCONNELL - Keith A. Cross, 87, of McConnell passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born Feb. 11, 1928, in McConnell to Roy T. and Martha (Shippy) Cross. He attended schools in the McConnell/Winslow area and enlisted in the US Army from the end of 1945 to 1947. He married Norma Ruzicka on April 6, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa. Keith hauled milk for 24 years for Kleckler and Anderson Trucking Co. He and his wife operated The Cross Grocery Store in McConnell. He retired from Sieg's Auto Parts in Freeport in 1990. He is survived by three children, Jerry (Karen) Cross of Lena, Gary (Cindy) Cross of Winslow, and Kaye Fuchs of Winslow; four grandchildren, Ryan (Karly) Cross, Jason Cross, Jodi (Andy) Graber, and Michelle Fuchs (Kyle Hay); three great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jamison Graber, and Emily Cross; a brother, Claire (Helen) Cross as sister-in-law, Charlotte Cross; all of McConnell and two brothers-in-law, Vernon Ruzicka and Fred Ruzicka of Ft. Atkinson, WI, and Fred (Patty) Ruzicka, of O'Neile, NE., several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma on Dec. 16, 2011; brothers, Dale and Wayne; and an infant sister, Marian. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd., Freeport, with Pastor Rick Bader of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lena officiating. Entombment will be at the Oakland Mausoleum. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Schwarz Chapel.
