Obituary for Ardell Hilton

Ardell Hilton was born on December 11, 1946to Perry Sr. and Tommie Lee Hilton in Freeport. He passed away October 25, 2014 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Ardell was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church where he attended until his health would no longer permit. He graduated from Freeport High School in 1966. He loved music and was a member of the Acapella Choir. He also was the drummer and sang for the group "the Ascots". He was a United States Army veteran. He went on to become a drill sergeant. After his tour of duty was completed he began working at KellySpringfield Tire Co. He was an active member of USWA local 745 serving as a steward and then 3rd shift Chief Steward. He retired after 33 years. He married Barbara Pruitt in 1970 to this union two sons were born Corey (Rita) Hamilton Hilton of Port St. Lucia, FL and Derrick Hilton of Rockford. On October 2, 2998 he married Cardena Flink to this union a daughter was born Darice (Manquail) Adell-Robinson of Rock Hill, S.C. Left to Cherish his memory are his wife, Carenda, his children Corey, Derrick and Darice, his grandchildren Brenna, Xzvier, Talia, Alyssa, Jade, Adonis and Amanda. His sister Rachel (Roy) Sellers, Lillie (Rev. Frank) Bullock both of Freeport and his twin sister Estelle (Ravi) Kahanna of New York, NY> His brothers Percy Jr. (Peggy) Hilton of Rockford and Charles (Rose) Hilton of Freeport. Alson a host of nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Sandra Hilton and one brother Jonell Hilton. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Burek-Tubbs. Funeral service will be held Wednesday 1 P.M. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with viewing from 11 a.am until the time of service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery
