BARBARA L. REMMERS, 82 PECATONICA - Barbara L. Remmers, 82, of Pecatonica, IL died at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014, in Medina Nursing Center, after a lengthy illness. She was born October 5, 1931, in Kings, IL; the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin and Marie (Ippen) LaMont. She married Dale "Lester" Remmers in Pecatonica, IL on December 12, 1954. Barbara worked in various restaurants in Pecatonica and worked for Economy Fire and Casualty Insurance for 12 years. Member of First Congregational Church and the Pecatonica Lions Club. Survivors include daughter, Sandy (Mike) Falconer of Winnebago, IL; sons, Dale (Linda) Remmers and David (Colleen) Remmers, all of Pecatonica, IL; daughter, DeeDee (Ron) Barr of Dakota, IL; grandchildren, Chris (Natalie) Falconer, Shaun (Danielle) Falconer, Dale Falconer, Erin (Nick) Ford, Alyssa Remmers, Brian and Cassandra Cox, Jacob and Samantha Barr; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Beau, Guy, Falconer, Nolan, Ava, Gabriel Ford and Ascher Cox; sisters, Janet (Lyle) Schryver, Dawn (Paul) Newman; brothers, Vernon (Sue) LaMont, Warren (Jeannie) LaMont, Wayne (Judy) LaMont; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband; sister, Bev Meinert; and brother, Lynn LaMont. Funeral ceremonies to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014, in First Congregational Church, 633 Reed Street, Pecatonica, IL, with Pastor Duane Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Freeport, IL. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCorkle Funeral Home - Countryman Chapel, 529 Washington Street, Pecatonica, IL.
