Dorothy Lee Allen, 89, of Freeport and Naperville, IL, died Friday July 4, 2014, in her Naperville residence. She was born March 26, 1925, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Stuart and Eula (Beeman) Watson. She married Darwin "Dar" Allen on June 29, 1946, in Detroit, MI; he died on December 12, 1984. Dorothy was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and a former member of the Freeport Country Club and the Freeport garden Club. Dorothy is survived by her son, Larry 9Cynthia) Allen of Woodridge,, IL; her daughter, Linda (Brian) McMahon of Lisle, IL; and five grandchildren, Derek (Kristi)Allen, Grant (Kaitlin Zordan)Allen, Lauren Allen, Blake McMahon, and Neal McMahon. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, with visitation from noon until the time of service. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
