Obituary for James R. Conner

James 'Buck' Conner, 79, of Freeport, passed away December 30, 2013 at Freeport Memorial Hospital. He was born on Sept. 12, 1934, in Corrigansville, Maryland; the son of William R. and Martha (Bridges) Conner. On May 17, 1991 he married Norma J. (Ingwell) Trampel in Freeport. He was a material handler at Kelly Springfeld for 27 years. He also served in the U.S. Air Force form 1954 - 1961. Buck was a member of the Freeport Eagle's Club & Moose Lodge where he recently earned the Fellowship Degree. He enjoyed his motorcycle, Indianapolis Colts, hunting, camping, bowling, reading, puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. Buck will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Norma; daughters-Jody Conner Jackson, Tiara (Tim) Kaiser, Sherry (Rick) Gordon all of Freeport, Terri (Talib Al-Ashail) Trampel of Orangeville: Belinda Paxton of Las Vegas, NV; sons - Russell Conner of Pecatonica, Scott (Cindy) Saxer of Pearl City, Mike (Julie Drury) Saxer of Janesville, WI, Henry (Nicole) Trampel of Rock City; many grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew, and a sister - Ivalene Rose Wilfong of Cumberland, Maryland. He is preceded by his parents, two sisters, and five brothers. Services will be on Friday January 3, 2014 at 12 noon at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd. Pastor Ralph Taylor will be officiating. Visitation will be at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 from 10 am until 12 noon. Interment will be at the Oakland Mausoleum.
