Denny went to be with his Lord and Savior in "Jesusville" on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Denny is finally at peace and pain free after years of physical trails that began with a near fatal motorcycle accident in 1970. He is now where he has longed to be, in Heaven with all his loved ones who have gone before him..
Denny was born in Freeport, on October 12, 1950 to Delbert and Carol (Schwarze) Fehr. He grew up on the family farm near Rock City. He attended Dakota Schools and graduated from Dakota High School in 1968. He furthered his education at Highland Community College and Western Illinois University.
As a young man he participated in Cub Scouts, 4-H and was FFA member and officer. He was an officer in the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity at Western and Served from the local to the state level in the U.S. Jaycees. That involvement earned him the distinguished honor of receiving the lifetime achievement award of JCI senator.
Denny's career path took him in many different directions; he served in Ogle County as Country Companies agent, managed jewelry and furniture stores, became a real state agent and business owner. Though it's hard to imagine he actually found great enjoyment in preparing taxes. He prepared taxes in the H & R Block office in Freeport and Tax insights in Phonenix, AZ. where he lived prior to returning to Freeport in 2009.
He attended Crossroads Community Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and sharing his faith. Denny's family would like to thank everyone who took time to say a prayer send a card or visit him. Thank you to all the wonderful people who attended to him at FHN, Liberty Village and FHN Hospice.
