Walter "Wally" O. Krehl
(August 29, 1937 - February 26, 2013)

Walter “Wally” O. Krehl, 75, of Freeport, died Tuesday February 26, 2013 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. He was born on August 29, 1937 in Freeport, Il, the son of George and Elinor (Bowen) Krehl. He married Sylvia Clark on June 18, 1960 in Davis, IL. Wally worked for 38 years at Micro Switch before retiring in 1997. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1958. He was a member of Embury U.M.C. and the Eagles Club. Wally loved to golf. Family was an important part of his life; especially his grandkids. Surviving Wally in death is his wife Sylvia Krehl of Freeport; one son George (Shareon) Krehl of Brooklyn, NY; two daughters Cindy (Mike) Frisch of Milwaukee, WI and Sheri (Will Tackett) Wescott of Freeport, IL; his brother Steve Krehl of Payette, ID; seven grandchildren William, Jordan, Kristen, and Samuel Frisch, Lauren and Collin Westcott, and Nicholas Krehl; also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother George. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday March 1, 2013 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Rev. William Blomberg officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. Thursday also at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
